What is the kiosk mode?

The Android Kiosk Mode restricts your Android mobile device to a specific application. With the Kiosk Mode, you can control what users can and cannot do on the device. Access to the smartphone outside of the GTimeClock app can be blocked like that.

Running GTimeClock in Kiosk Mode

Android has an app pinning feature, that allows an app to run in kiosk mode.

Enable screen pinning: First, kiosk mode must be enabled in the Android settings: Open the Android settings and tap Security and privacy. Then tap More security settings. Turn on App pinning.

Pin (lock) TimeClock:. Start the GTimeClock time tracking station.

  • Gesture control: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to the middle and hold your finger.
  • Operation via buttons: Tap Overview.

Tap the app icon at the top of the screen. Then tap Pin this app.

Terminate kiosk mode

  • Gesture control: Swipe up from the bottom and hold your finger.
  • Operation via 2 buttons: Press and hold Back and Overview at the same time.

Numerous software manufacturers offer additional apps for kiosk mode.
